Item 74 — Thursday, September 24, 2026
In plain language — from agenda source text
This resolution authorizes eminent domain proceedings to acquire a 419-square-foot permanent electric transmission and distribution easement at 1000 East 38 1/2 Street, part of Austin Energy's work to relocate transmission structures on Circuits 823, 834 and 835 to make room for TxDOT's I-35 Capital Express expansion. The three circuits each cross I-35 near East 38 1/2 Street and both sides of Dean Keeton, so the poles have to move before the highway does. The property is appraised at $33,834, which is available in Austin Energy's Capital Budget, though the final figure could rise based on updated appraisals, a Special Commissioner's award, a negotiated settlement, or a judgment.
